muscle injury, cant lift. best way to preserve muscle mass

So as it says...i went to see my doc and said i have a grade 2 calf muscle strain in both my calves..it's gonna take at least a month or more to heal all the way. so i cant run or do much cardio. the thing is, i just entered my 'cutting' phase after eating lots and bulking some muscle. i dont want to lose that muscle. what would you recommend i do to preserve my muscle mass (especially my legs, i've got great calf definition). i can probably do some upper body lifting, given i'm not needing to use my leg muscles, i.e. picking up heavy weights and having to walk/carry them to a bench. if you get my drift..so? any recommendations on how best to keep my hard earned muscles?
thanks
thanks

Just eat at maintenance level calories.
Muscle mass doesn't start falling off when you don't exercise for a few weeks, it's pretty easy to maintain.
Rest until you are recovered you aren't going to lose anything over that short period.0 -

^^^This. People need to realize that months of hard work aren't going to disappear after a few weeks of rest (or bad eating, for that matter). However, what will stall your gains is rushing back to quickly and turning a 2 week R.I.C.E. case into something more serious and keeps you off the routine for a much longer period.0
