Soy Protein Isolate

I am on my fifth day of taking a soy protein isolate powder by Swiss Naturals. I am taking it according to the directions (a 2 tbsp serving is 16 grams of protein), but it's giving me a difficult-to-describe sensation in my head, not a headache, maybe a bit of a pressure sensation. Has this happened to anyone? Does it pass? Is it just my body adjusting to soy as I have never had much in the way of soy in my diet, or should I quit taking it rigth now? I'm not averse to trying whey or other source protein, I just want the pure form, not all mixed up with sugar substitutes and artificial flavours.

    Personally, I won't use a protein isolate like that - just a personal preference. Often, petroleum-based solvents are used to isolate the protein, so it's not for me. I use hemp protein powder, which is cold-compressed seeds. It's completely natural and also contains the perfect ratio of Omega 3 and Omega 6. It's the best protein supplement in my opinion.

    ETA: 15 grams of protein in the Nutiva brand one - 90 calories, *nothing* added

    Getting away from soy is never a bad idea.

    I suggest that you look for an alternate source of plant protein.

    90% + of Soy grown world wide is GMO. It is ver hard to find non-GMO Soy products.

    There are Hemp, Flax & nut based (Almond, walnut, etc) alternatives but I do not know any brand or store names!

    I tried the whey powders for a while and found that for me, eating nuts and adding flax to my diet was giving me the results I wanted with out eating soy.

    BTW - corn is something else to avoid. Again, over 90% is GMO!
