Can water give you heartburn?

Options
I have recently increased my water intake quite a lot, and 2 - 3 weeks into it I keep getting heartburn.

Or could it be down to medium bowl of cereal for breakfast, soup for lunch, 5ish peices of fruit a day and a medium bowl of pasta/jacket potato for tea. as a rough daily average food intake?

I certainly eat less than I did - the only thing I have done is increase water.

Any ideas?

Yes, I think so. Especially if you suffer from gerd iirc. I do but since i'm taking nexium now it's no longer a problem. (not so much the water causing it but exacerbating it by raising the level of acid in your stomach to the more tender areas of your hiatal sphincter and beyond).

It does me. Probably it's the chlorine or chloramines.
I installed an under sink filter, but before that I used a Brita.
Solved the GERD from water for me.
