Looking for Friends

Hello-

I've been on MFP for a while, but haven't really ventured into the whole social aspect. I decided it's time for some friends :)

I'm 33, a teacher, married, and mom to two girls.
I live in Central Indiana- enjoy biking, no LOVE biking, and have recently completed C25K. I'm hoping to do the mini marathon in the spring. I would love to run the whole thing, but I'm not so sure about that. Regardless, I'm hoping to increase my mileage this winter and complete the mini with more running than walking!

My highest weight (Last December) was 210. I lost a lot of that weight using Lose It. I switched to MFP because I liked the format better. I am currently at 160. I would like to get under 150, which would put me at a healthy BMI. So, I am pretty close to my goal.

At this point, my focus has moved from the scale to how I feel. I have PCOS and severe insulin resistance. I feel SO much better with exercise in my life!

If you think we might have something in common, please send me a friend request :)

Julie

Thanks for the congrats shira- I feel so much better. That's the biggest thing for me. I was on two different blood pressure medications and on an insulin sensitizing med. I have been taken off of everything. I hit a turning point where I realized that my lifestyle was leading me straight into diabetes. According to my endo, I have decreased my risk drastically. My blood pressure now runs a nice and healthy 110/70 with no medication. My resting heartrate also used to be in the 90's. Now it is between 60-70. My heart is so much happier than it was at 210 pounds.

I live about 20 miles south of Indianapolis. Different part of the state :)
