Over 30

I am in my early 30s, extremely physically active (cardio, yoga and weights are a regular part of my routine) but I have been overweight my whole life. Had I known as a teenager how hard it would be to shed those last 20 pounds in my adult years, I would have embraced exercise and a healthy eating lifestyle much earlier. This is the one piece of advice I would pass along to any young woman who has weight issues - get a handle on it earlier!!
Now that exercise and a balanced diet are like breathing to me, I wish I would have tried harder when losing weight was easier. Even in my 20s, it seemed so easy to drop the weight. Now that I am in my 30s, it seems I am fighting for every ounce. The 9 pounds that I have lost to date are truly a victory.
Now I fear that if I let up on the exercise routine that any weight losses will immediately be gained back. Anyone else feel that their age is working against them?
