I eat within half an hour. I usually mix up a protein shake as I leave the gym and drink it on my way home.

15 - 45 minutes is typically the recommended timeframe for eating after a workout.

I put cottage cheese in my gym bag and eat it after I do squats and Romanian Deadlifts, just before I do Leg Press. Gives it a chance to get nice and room temperature.

I have my shake when I get home from the gym. Usually about an hour or less after my workout.

Really? I love cottage cheese and all but I can't think of anything more vomit inducing than room temperature cottage cheese just before leg presses.

Once a month we go out for margaritas and nachos right after boot camp. So far so good.

    Immediately

If it's early AM, 5g creatine, 10g leucine, 20g whey isolate, 30g whey hydrolosate, 30g PWO blend (whey hydro, casein hydro, whey iso).

If it's in the evening, 5g creatine, 10g leucine, 30/30 as above, frozen yogurt with hot fudge and Ressee cups.
  • As soon as possible.

Whenever you get hungry. I'm usually not hungry after I run so I don't eat right away. After I lift weights I want to eat the whole house so I eat something else instead.

I keep it in my pockets so when I get hungry in the middle of a workout I can just grab a handful.

I IMMEDIATELY have a protein shake after my workout. I drink it while I'm changing out of my workout clothes into my "street" clothes. When I get back to work, I eat an apple (15 minutes after my workout).

NOTE: This is what my trainer recommended because I lift heavy. What's right for me may not make a bit of difference to someone else. After teaching Zumba, I usually don't have anything for about 45 minutes, and then it's a bit of almonds or egg whites.

There's glutamine in the protein, never thought much of taking it as a stand alone.

I usually drink my Recovery drink during my workouts and I will have something right afterwards to eat. It is good to do immediate so that you can recover.

You don't want to wait longer than an hour. 30-60 minutes after a workout is good :)

I usually drink a protein shake right after I hit the locker room post workout (I mix it the previous evening). Since I usually workout early in the morning, I have breakfast within an hour.

Unless you are an elite level professional athlete, it doesn't matter. Do whatever works best for you.

This, meal timing is pretty much irrelevant as long as you get enough protein during a few hours leading up to exercise or within 24 hours after

The only time I would suggest any different if you are glycogen depleted, then you want to get carbs into.

When training hard, Glutamine very good to recover - I take 5g of it in the morning before meal, in protein shake after workout (within 45 min) and before bed.

To OP, having a shake withing 15-1h of working out is great for recovery and feeding muscle... If that's not your goal, then whenever works for you. I use this guideline for when I run and lifting weights... If you wait until your hungry, you've already starved your body and lost the best window of opportunity to feed your body fast with great nutrients :)

When I get home. No formula. No specific timing. I'm too old to be concerned about getting ripped.
As far as what? Whatever my wife has cooked that day for dinner.
I used to eat dinner sometimes before going to the Y for swim ans weights. But I noticed that my endurance seems higher if I wait until after workout even if it has been 5+ hours since lunch.
I have considered recovery drinks but never followed through. But anything that can reduce the muscle pain when I over do it would be a good thing. :)
