Female Protein Shake

I love my protein shake MP Max Elle true diet but its so expensive with postage it works out almost £40 a month.
I am looking for a shake that can be used to replace Breakfast and for recovery after my run every week day.
Can anybody suggest a cheaper option ?

Thank you

could buy maxitone if you can get a good deal. they do one for after workouts too. taste pretty nice :)

usn diet fuel is yummy. sci mx diet shake is good too.

tbh now the tax has gone up it's hard getting a good deal!

Why not just use impact whey?

Edit: scoop of instant oats, scoop of whey and a multivit, it's cheaper.
Personally I opt for slow release in the morning so i have casein or milk protein smooth with 150ml of milk and 25g oats, and reserve whey for pre/post workout.

I wouldn't suggest using a protein shake as a breakfast meal replacement, use a meal replacement shake with protein for that. I have meal replacement shakes and protein that I use for shakes. I use GNC for both (Lean25 for my meal replacement shake and AMP 60 for my post workout protein) but they're on the more expensive side, but I'm picky about the taste of mine so I'm willing to pay more for it, but its still not super expensive. Usually you can find deals on it too.

I thought they were for men only. You will have to find one that is pH balanced for a woman...

I use GNC's AMP60 for my daily post workout. I only use 1.5 scoops instead of the 3 scoops. It makes the canister last twice as long and I eat enough protein where I don't need 60g in one sitting. It's also the leanest protein powder they have, with only 3g of sugar and no fat. Love it!

I use Gold Standard 100% Whey. Really nice, great amount of protein. Low in fat and carbs.

I buy it for £40. It has 76 servings in, so 1 a day = more than 2 months.

ETA: Male/female protein, it really doesn't matter. It's a protein supplement that is all. Many of them differ in other things such as fat and carbs, but that is personal choice as to which you choose. It doesn't matter which gender you are, buy which works for you :)

I'm glad I don't need expensive protein powders. I get enough protein from meat, poultry, fish, and dairy, and it seems to be not so expensive.

you know the food tracker re: the goal amount of protein you should have per day...... is that pretty accurate? because i always seem to meet my requirement and i don't think i need to get more protein in my diet,... any thoughts?

Shoot for around 1g protein per pound of lean body mass. If you don't know lean body mass, then around .8g protein per lb of body weight should get you in the ballpark.

The number they use here is based on the RDI which is the MINIMUM the average human being should take to avoid a deficiency. I highly recommend much more then that and so do mostly everyone.

"The American and Canadian guidelines recommend a daily protein dietary allowance, measured as intake per kilogram body weight, is 0.8 g/kg.[15] However, this recommendation is based on structural requirements, but disregards use of protein for energy metabolism.[15] This requirement is for a normal sedentary person"

If you exercise "Suggested amounts vary between 1.6 g/kg and 1.8 g/kg"
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein_(nutrient)

I'll give you me as an example:
    Weight: 120lb
If you don't know how to do conversions to kg you can go to google and type in "120lb in kg"
    Weight=120lb=54.4311kg
    Protein per day: weight*(1.8g/kg)=(54.4311kg)*(1.8g/kg)=97.97598

So I aim for about 98g or more. To much of anything is bad, but it takes a lot of protein to turn into a problem. I'm usually in the 88-120g range and as you can tell from my profile pic, I'm not very big. I wouldn't worry about going over that unless I'm regularly in the 200s or something which is almost double my weight in terms of numbers (and not units).
