Small NSV for me!

The first week of October I started taking a spin class twice a week. The first day was horrible! My heart rate spiked to over 180, it felt like it was about to explode. And about 10 minutes into it I wanted to cry because I didn't think I could last another minute, let alone 50! But I stuck with it. And slowly it got better. And just as slowly my butt stopped hurting from the seat.
Now, only a month later, my heart rate tops about about 160 and it's hella hard to get it that high too. I really have to push myself, it's normally more in the 130-150 range, which is just right. And I can make it through the hour without any issues. It's still a tough workout, but I don't feel like I'm dying after 10 minutes. Also, my heart rate comes down a lot faster after the "hills" and "jumps" than it did a month ago.
It's just a way that I can see that I'm not only losing weight, but I'm getting healthier also!
A little related side story, since I found it funny. I usually keep my heart rate monitor set to show my heart rate (instead of calories) during spin because she is always saying we should be at XX% of max. Anyway, a couple weeks ago I switched the display to check my calories near the end of class and apparently forgot to switch it back because a few minutes later I went to check my heart rate and the display said 445! :noway: My first thought was "Uh... someone call 911 please?" But then I realized what happened and switched it back. Gave me a good giggle though.

Grats, keep it up. I don't do spin class, because the seats are designed by someone that moonlighted for the Spanish Inquisition. I prefer my actual bike, better seat, and better scenery, but more power to those that can stand the gym bike seats!0

I think when your heart rate is 450 it's called fibrilation, and usually when that happens you wouldn't be conscious enough (if at all) to ask someone to call 911. That is a funny scare, though. Keep up the good work!0
