Hi, i was just wondering what others have tried, are trying or have been advised to try in order to lose weight. I live in China and get a lot of er, advice on the weird to the wonderful. Not sure what is what, but just for fun here is what I do.....(and I am not saying do this or do that, this works, this doesn't - though I do seem to losing).
Garlic soaked in vinegar - The garlic is left soaking in vinegar for a month before it is consumed. Two cloves (the segments right?) with a teaspoon of the vinegar they've been soking in. take before bed.
Two cloves raw chopped garlic - If the above is not available. I have a new batch festering at the moment.
Tummy rubs - Lying dowwn , before going to sleep, rub your tummy 500 times. This is done in a clockwise direction looking down at you tummy if that makes sense. Do 50 with one hand then change etc....so both arms and shoulders get a bit of exercise also
.
Chinese tea of many splendid varieties - Are said to work. these are real teas and not miracle weight loss types. The weight loss teas can hurt the stomach so much and you can often find yourself getting caught out and needing to rush for the loo. This can be unpleasant as most Chinese toilets are to the squatter design (not a critism, just a fact). I have mental notes of establishments that contain decent sit down toilets.
Squat toilets - I DON'T USE THESE AS PART OF WEIGHTLOSS PLAN - Most public ones are (I have not been advised to lose use these in order to lose weight but signs on many doors of toilets show a stick man in a squatting position and then simeone sitting down with some sign indicating that his stomach/bowel whatever cannot move as clearly coss he's cramped it through sitting. Though when I have squatted, the movement has often seemed very clear, but sometimes too clear and everything gets pebbledashed.
Steamed Purple Sweet Potato - I eat one every night before dinner. Its supposed to fill me without adding too many calories. I eat less rice with my dinner, and more veg. If I finish dinner at 6.30pm I can comfortably make it through the night withiout wanting more food.
Like I said, this is not do this and do that post. Its just a fun reflection on what we try or are advised to try. Things eems to be working with reduced booze and added exercise, little to no cakes etc..and no crisps. Added together and East Meets West In Steven's Body. IT all seems to be working.
Anyone else?
