Peace in accountability

I am a newbie here, but as a veteren of countless weight loss programs, I have discovered a very plain and simple truth. When I document what I eat, I do much better, I want my food diary to be something I am proud of; that is, I want to look over it and be pleased at what I chose to feed my body that particular day. Probably sounds strange, but there is a real peace in accountability; and it is not time consuming at all; it actually takes me more time to try justify eating crap then just accounting for what I am taking in. Yesterday was a little difficult as I am a night binger, but I decided after dinner no more food, I had enough calories for the day , I stayed within my calorie goal. I sipped two cups of tea to stave off that urge to rummage (sp?) through the kitchen. When I went to bed with growling stomach, I felt a nice peace knowing that I was honest with my food, and I could prove, at least for that day, that I could take responsibility and not blame circumstances, people, blah, blah, blah, for my obesity. We wear what we eat.

A food diary is the only way to go for me!!! I definitely do better when I log my food. That is one reason that I really LOVE MFP... it makes it soooo easy to log my food and exercise. I NEED accountability. It "holds my fee to the fire" so to speak. I have a big goal to accomplish, so I'm logging away! :drinker:0
