I was painfully shy, so I hated trick or treating (in my neck of the woods you didn't just go ask for candy, you had to do a trick or tell a joke to get candy....trick FOR a treat). I remember my Mom making me dress up (I think I was like 12 or 13) so that my brother could go. He had severe asthma & it was usually too cold for him to go out w/o it triggering an asthma attack. That particular year, it was fairly warm still so I dressed as a football player & he went as GI Joe. I hated every minute of it but did it for him and that was the last year.

Wow... a lot of you people stopped trick-or-treating really young! I trick-or-treated until my senior year in High School! I was 17! Could finally drive to the rich neighborhoods and get the GOOD candy! Dressed up as a tap dancing chicken!

I don't mind older kids trick-or-treating, as long as they are dressed in costume! Don't come knocking on my door with a hat and expect to get candy... my family calls me the Trick-or-Treat Nazi! But hey! I give Full Size Candy Bars... I think I can demand costumes!

I stopped at age 15 because when I was 16, I had a license and a car, and a job so I could buy my own candy.

Never. No age limit. You see parents with babies out every Halloween. That kid doesn't have teeth, you are trick or treating for you! Stop lying.

    Awesome! SO TRUE!

When I was young, we went to a strict church and trick or treating was not allowed. My oldest daughter stopped trick or treating for candy at 11 and now trick or treats with the builders club at her school for canned goods. My youngest is 11 and we are headed out tonight. I'm not sure when we will stop, but I'm sure whatever age that may be she won't want to!
