Possible to NOT lose weight because eating too little?

Read something very interesting and thought I would share.

Question asked was "Is it actually possibe to NOT lose weight because you're eating too little?

Answer is yes and here is why. 1) Energy intake increases. Of course eating too little causes major appetite increase which causes overeating. 2) Metabolism decrease due to smaller body mass. When losing weight your metabolism is slowly decreasing due to your reduced body mass. This causes your calorie deficit to slowly shrink as your diet progresses which causes your progress to slow down. 3) Metabolism decreases due to adaptive thermogenesis (starvation response)

What can be done to stop this metabolic slowdown? 1) Lose weight slowly 2lb week recommended 2) Use a higher energy flux program. Weight training and cardio is recommended 30 Use a conservative calorie deficit. 20% deficit below your maintenance calories is recommended. 30% for heavier people 4) Refeed your body. Increase your calories (re-feed) for a full day periodically (once a week if you are heavy, twice a week if you are already lean,), to restimulate your metabolism. On the higher calorie day, take your calories to maintenance or even 10, 15 or 20% above and add the extra calories in the form of carbs. 5) Take periodic diet breaks. Tale 1 week off your calorie restricted diet approximately every 12 weeks. Take your calories back up to maintenance but continue to eoat healthy "clean" foods.

Read this in the Burn The Fat newsletter and thought it was very interesting.
