Heart like a hummingbird or just really out of shape?

I'm 26 and in fairly average shape (but also have asthma and lung damage). I've started using an HRM when working out and am doing the Couch to 5K program on the treadmill but I've noticed if I run for 5min (I'm in week 4), my HR gets up around 200 which according to some internet calculators (which are most likely unreliable) is about 103% of my max heart rate.
My resting heart rate is also a little high for what they consider "normal" but still in the normal range.
Opinions? Am I more out of shape than I think?

What is your resting heart rate? Everyone is different - some people have higher than normal heart rates (both resting and maximum).
If you just started working out then any amount of exertion is going to spike your heart rate for sure. If you don't feel faint or dizzy and you're not getting chest pain then I would generally not worry about it.0 -
I've been working out for a couple months but just got the heart rate monitor. My resting heart rate used to be in the mid to upper 80s and is now high 60s most of the time (I check and track it on an app on my phone) so that has gone down as I've exercised more but I was shocked to see 200 while I was running. I was definitely pushing myself but didn't feel dizzy/faint so I just wrote it off and it went back down when I dropped the speed for the walking portion.0

I think you might just be out of shape. I know when I first started working out like a year ago with my HRM i would run for like 2 minutes and it would be at 180 immediately and my face would flush.
Now it usually gets to around 160 or so. Not much better, but hey, i'll take it.0 -
Could be just out of shape. I remember in gym class in high school we were learning about heart rates and we would run .25 miles around the track and then check our heart rates, and mine was 205! My gym teacher made me sit down. I felt fine, just winded because I was out of shape. Now when I run it usually caps at 168-170. I'm 28. If you feel ok I wouldn't think it's a big deal, especially since it comes back down when you're doing the walking intervals but I'm no professional!0
