Hi I'm Dave, and I have the fat gene! Working my way down for the second time from 230lbs. I'm 5"7" pretty athletic when I'm in the zone. I lost my job of over 21 years in 09, got depressed and had to start my life over. In the mean time I had stopped working out and ate whatever whenever I was hungry. One time previously I was fat and happy and lost weight using Atkins. Earlier this year, for several months, I ate what I considered normal healthy meals and got back in to cycling, which is my go to workout ( I used to run a LOT but my weight caused my back to hurt too much). After a few months of eating good and riding my *kitten* off on my bike, I kept getting fatter!

In June at 229 lbs., I went back to Atkins, where I finally got my weight down to 191 lbs. and my weight loss STOPPED! SO, starting October 20, 2012 I found myfitnesspal, and entered my data striving for 2 lbs per week. I have followed the plan to the letter (Please see my food diary!!) .and have only a couple days where I went over, and when I did it was not by much. You will see I am a pretty hardcore cycling enthusiast and routinely burn 3000+ calories on rides.

My problem is now, ten days using myfitnesspal, going to bed hungry and working out sometimes twice a day, I CANNOT break 190lbs. My goal weight is 165-168. Currently my body fat is at 18% according to my Omron.

What the hell is causing this ? In the past 10 days, I have consumed 32,504 calories and burned 38,423 leaving a calorie deficit of 5,191, divided by 3500 calories per pound, I should be solidly into the 180's, 188 to be precise............

Please look at my food diary and exercise logs. All advice is appreciated.

Dave
