One year on MFP

About a year ago I made a great decision. I joined MFP! Since then I've become more aware of the choices I make~ at first I tried to to follow everyone else's rules but as time went on I realized I needed to find what works for me. This is really the only realistic way I'd be able to maintain a healthy and steady weight loss. I found a balance between cardio, strength training, eating the right portions of food (using Canada's food guide) and also recognizing my WOW foods and being able to distinguish between what I really love eating and what I eat just because it's there.

About a year ago I started off around 175lbs and with the help of MFP and advice from my aunt who's a dietitian (and well, also my own determination had something to do with it!) I lost 25lbs by Feb 2012. During that time frame I really learned a lot about excercise, different recipes, made a few good friends, and also was so encouraged by all of you hotties and that really inspired me to keep going. I wouldn't really consider it "unfortunate" but during the spring/summer I fell back into old habits, mostly due to a crazy wild and energy-consuming summer job. Mostly I fell out of my excercise routine and didn't watch carb portions. Didn't eat veggies etc. However I always craved a run and knew I should change my diet. I went back to over 170lbs and I missed my healthy lifestyle.

I re-dedicated myself to MFP about a month and a half ago, and I don't log everyday because it seems very tedious, but I love the support and inspirational stories. And I love the people who stayed friends with me, despite my summer absence:flowerforyou:

Anyways thanks for taking the time to read ths, I know there weren't any pictures which isn't very exciting of me. So far I've lost ~10lbs and am sooooooo excited! It was a bit disheartening to gain back what had taken such an effort to lose, but I am relieved to be back in the swing of things. I appreciate every pound gone and have a good feeling that I won't get back to that weight again.

I love MFP:heart:
Also you guys are alright...

Thanks for sharing your story and congrats for being one year on. I have not known you for a lot of your journey but from what I do know you are strong and determined. I have no doubt you will achieve your future goals (weight orientated or otherwise). I have appreciated knowing that I am not the only one who has tried, 'failed' and then tried again and you have certainly been a source of inspiration to me (and no doubt plenty of others) so thanks to you for being there for us over the past year.

    :) Heather
P.S yeah you are alright too
