YogurtLand shock!!

I'm a frozen yogurt addict, but I'm not a fan of math. So I just read this blog entry: http://cuttingmeinhalf.blogspot.com/2012/03/how-many-calories-are-really-in-my-cup.html -- And I think you should, too, if you like frozen yogurt!
As far as I understand, basically, the calorie count on the machine tells you how many calories are in one fluid ounce, but the scale at the cash register measures the WEIGHT in ounces. So there's some fine print (never noticed this myself) that tells you how many calories are in an 83g serving. Then, there are about 28g in an oz (as measured by the scale), so you do the math.
The only reason I mention this is because you're probably consuming 20%~50% more calories than you think you are, due to the differences in measurement!
I was absolutely blown away by this. I had never considered that before, and simply multiplied the calories per fl. oz. by the number of "oz" that showed up on the scale. Actually, I feel like that's kind of covert nutritional information to be putting on display...!
Also, the small cup apparently weighs .75 oz., so, duly noted.
Hope this is helpful to other frozen yogurt fans.

Don't worry, it happens to all of us.0

Reading and understanding all the large and small print information on food labels is an art in its self. "Processed" food producers use every rouse they can to fog the issue especially if the product is not simple unflavoured yoghurt.
Keep educating yourself and us0 -
When I go to yogurt land, I have them weigh the yogurt for me, so I know how much to add to my diary, then I go back and add fruit toppings since those are easier to eyeball for me.0
