Celery anyone?

Yea, I don't want any either so don't feel bad. I need some motivation today. I've been at this for a week and a half and I've done really good, even with my other half trying to convince me to make every day a 'bad behaviour' day and eat 12 times my calorie goal. I even braved going 'out to eat' today for lunch with the girls and I was so happy with myself. I stuck with a salad, minimal light dressing, and instead of loaded baked potatoe soup I went with french onion soup on it's own. I felt famished about 2 hours later and went for celery. And now, 10 celery sticks later, I feel like I could kill someone for a Whopper, chased by a slice of Pizza Hut Supreme Pizza, and for desert a whole girl scout troops cookie sales for the last 10 years. SOMEONE PLEASE TALKE ME DOWN FROM THIS CLIFF!

I will try to talk you down, but you have all the power!
Just do something, anything, to get your mind off of it.
Whatever your favorite thing is. Call a friend, go for a walk,
heck even clean. Just try not to think about it. The thing
about cutting calories is you are shrinking your stomach and
eventually, you will be full and won't have to cut yourself off.
Don't give up! Know it will get easier! Hope that helped....

DON'T DO IT. YOU DON'T WANT TO CLOG YOUR ARTERIES! PLUS IT WILL BE ALL WORTH IT IN DECEMBER...0

I think it's important to let yourself eat the foods that you want but just to be aware of the portions and calories of your meals. I usually have a small bowl of all bran cereal or a smoothie and for breakfast because I'm never that bothered about breakfast and then for lunch and dinner I'll eat whatever I crave but I'll try and only eat about 400-600 calories worth. Its not about the food you eat its about how much you eat.0

You should be getting hungry often. That means that your metabolism is in full swing. Instead of just celery, why not pair it with a laughing cow wedge, peanut butter, or a yogurt. Protien will help you feel full longer. Get off the cliff mama, and head straight to the dairy section. Try to think about how good you felt after your "triumph" at lunch. Or, you can always check out the calorie/fat/carb count for the foods you threaten bodily harm for. That should curb your appetite. Good Luck!0

I was not good at lunch today (ordered in for a co-worker's birthday) and I feel like crap! Don't cave...you don't want to feel like me, I promise. If your calorie load was lite for lunch then maybe have a more filling snack. On days like that I have a wedge of Laughing Cow garlic and herb cheese (40 calories for a wedge) and 3-5 whole wheat crackers. It tastes really good, fills me up for a while, and isn't too many calories.0

I always think of the Kate Moss quote "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels."0

I don't know what you intake and exercise has been...but, when I I feel like I am starving and dying of hunger for something, my body is trying to tell me something....if your truly hungry...put some peanut butter on your celery to fill you...maybe you are lacking some protein or fat from your diet0

Watching Biggest Loser or those shows about a 16 yr old who weighs 500 lbs keeps me from temptations!!! It works!0

Keep up the good work!!!!!! You can make it through this!
My work is attached to the Eaton Centre, I don't even have to go outside to get to dozens of yummy restaurants. I'm fighting these temptations with ya!0 -
Make sure that your meals actually taste satisfying to you, too. Be sure you're getting protein combined with fiber to ensure that it stays with you longer. I just had a small piece of chocolate as a treat to keep me from wanting to eat a whole bag after I've deprived myself for so long. It's okay to do that. For dinner make garden or even turkey burgers wrapped in lettuce with a slice of cheese and your fixin's. Bake some sweet potato fries up with it for a filling and satisfying alternative to fast food slop. You just need to find a healthier alternative and new was of prepping the kinds of foods you love. It just takes time, practice, and patience to get it right. Keep on going...you can do it!0

Thanks for the motivation everyone! I made it through the end of the work day, and now it's dinner time, tax time, and bedtime all very close together (yes I work/live dodgy hours), so I think I can make it!0
