Cravings anyone??

I have never understood this about myself. Why when I know something is bad for me to eat, however I eat it anyways a lot of the time?? What the heck is it going to take to say NO WAY to those awful foods that I already know are bad for me more often then not. I know a little treat here and there is ok, but I treat a little too often, more then I should be. What do you guys do to keep on the right track and say no to those pain in the but cravings??

  • I look at myself in the mirror...and say...I could stay like this which is not bad....or I can stop eating crap and get the body I always wanted.

    and It really works!!!!

    try it!!!!

It has been suggested that drinking a large glass of water when you are craving something helps. Also walking away for a time or eating something crunchy (like carrot or celery ).

The thing is that you will probably always have cravings for something so learning how to moderate is a pretty big key. There is nothing wrong with having a 'treat' occasionally - or even daily as long as you have the room and it fits in your macros.

Is that your picture, if it is you look young and cute as hell. I know because I was once young and cute as hell. Now I am 47 and 100 pounds over weight because I didn't learn in my 20s that I can't eat whatever I want just because its calling my name. Don't learn the hard way like I did. figure out what works for you and get a grip now, saying no will get easier, like anything usually the hard thing to do is the right thing to do. Drink a glass of water, do jumping jacks, leave the room pick up a book or hobby to redirect your focus but figure out now what works for you and don't give into the cravings and it will be easier to tell yourself no.
  • Giving into cravings often is ok in my book - in moderation. Sure I have those days where it's so good it's too hard to stop lol. But all in all, as long as your within your calorie range, I don't see how it does much harm. You should still be able to enjoy the things you love to eat, just have to decide how much is "enough".. If you REALLY don't want to give in to the craving (sometimes it opens a whole day of snacking if I do) then I suggest this - do something for half an hour to keep your mind off the craving. After keeping busy for a bit, think about if you still want it. Sometimes staying preoccupied will curb cravings and help you to rethink your decision. If you decide you DO still want it, try to make a healthier version of whatever the craving may be. Hope this helps :)
