Runtastic, how accurate?

Options
I'm a little unsure as to the legitimacy of the "burn" claims for walking. Today I have apparently burned 477 calories and walked less than 3 miles at what has to be said, was a sedentary pace. OK I was walking for a little over 1 hour in total (24 mins + 41 mins) but 4767 calories does seem a little high to me. I appreciate that peoples burn will depend on other factors such as age/weight and the terrain covered, but I'm doubtful.

Stats:
276 lbs
53 years old
Terrain Hilly asphalt

Anyone have any advice?

Was that just over 400, or was that over 4000? If it's 4000, then FOR SURE it is inaccurate! lol

I just walked about 4 miles, and it says that *I* burned over 800 calories! That CAN'T be accurate! It took me just over an hour to do, but I was barely breaking a sweat. I am going to invest in a heart rate monitor (I like the Polar F4) as people say that THAT is the best way to go as far as counting calories goes.
