I plan to start law school this year. English degrees happen to be a great foundation for that.

Very true. That's what I did, too. But I went into law school in '96 and graduated in '99, when the job market for lawyers was a lot better. Just evaluate the job market carefully. And if you can, try to pay cash for law school. Those student loans will follow you like a stray dog for years and years. Trust me on that one.

Thank you for the advice. I'm going to definitely try to work out some alternative financing for this endeavor. I'm interested in immigration law (which might be a good thing for a south Floridian), civil rights, and entertainment if I decide against the other 2 for some reason.

I'm going for my Associates in Web and Software Development right now. Eventually, when my kids are older, I will be going for some type of degree in Psychology or Sociology, hopefully a Masters or a Doctorate by the end.

My undergrad major was English lit with a minor in music and faith, peace and justice studies. My master's is in social work. English was actually a good foundation for my SW career since I do so damn much writing... aka paperwork!

    Astrophysics.

I was a big science geek.

Don't do it, it's to freaking hard.

I went this route and swapped in the middle of my junior year. I traded it for sleep.

    ^^lol
I'm in the same boat (kind of)
Currently in my junior year as a physics major... wishing I had picked something a little less difficult.

My husband's getting his degree in Physics and Engineering. It gives me a headache when he tries to explain his homework.
