New Bench Press Record-- and AFTER a record cardio workout,

Got the weight plates right today and did an all-time personal best for the bench press: 205 x 2 reps.

And that was after a 30 min cross trainer workout in which I set a new personal best for (machine) calories burned in 30 minutes.

I also matched my "workout" high weight on squats as well.

So, I am going to stick to my position that doing heavy strength training after a hard cardio workout is NOT "unsafe"....

(hopefully, the "joshing' tone is apparent)

Nothing special. I just eat my regular meals. I don't like to work out on a full stomach, but I have problems going too long as well.
I try to wait a couple of hours after eating before working out. If it's been too long after a meal, I try to make sure a have a higher-carb snack of 100-150 calories. It takes a while before the body can fully utilize stored fuel, so it is helpful to have some blood glucose circulating at the start as a quick source of energy.
