Inner thigh chaffing/ rub/ Friction Burn help!

I'm not super overweight, I'm a teenage girl - 5'8" and 176lbs/80kg. My thighs are 25" When I was 191 last December my thigh rub wasn't bad and only occasional.

Today I have like little bumps and boils between my upper thighs and the pain is immense. I want to go to my doctor tomorrow, as one of the bumps was bleeding.

Hopefully if I'll stay on track and lose 2lbs a week I'll be 16lbs lighter in 8 wels which might improve my thighs/thigh rub pain. My goal weight is 145 so hopefully by then I'll never experience this again!

Does anyone have any tips/ advise to help me? Any success stories.

You can try an anti-chafing cream or rub. They make one for runners that comes in a stick. There are some great powders too. Monkeybutt is a great product.

It's going to be hard to lose 2 lbs a week since you aren't that far away from a healthy goal. The absolute best thing you can do is heavy weight training and a moderate deficit. This way you will concentrate on fat loss and preserve muscle. Muscle is tight and lean, the more you have, the smaller and leaner your body will be. Unfortunately, you can't spot reduce, so it's all about overall body fat loss. Realistically, you should aim for 1 lb per week based on the below guidelines, eat 50% of your exercise calories and exercise.

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal, and
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal.

Invest in some shape wear for under your clothes.

If you Google for "Spanx" you can check out the options. I have something like the "In-Power™ Line Super Higher Power" which i tuck under my bra band and it covers down to about mid-thigh. Holds everything in place so I don't get any chafing. I have used this type of product for years and I will probably keep using it even when I reach goal weight because I love the 'smoothing' effect.
  • My mum has a pair of slimming shorts like Spanx which she brought but never wears so ill try find them.

I have the same issue, usually only in the summer whne I wear skirts or dresses. I use Monistat chaffing gel/power. It works great but doesn't last all day, it has to be reapplied. (It also makes a great make-up primer!) I found that just wearing bike shorts under skirts is much more comfortable though.
