a) weigh bagel
b) cut out hole
c) reweight bagel
d) new weigh divided by old weight = x%
e) Subtract x% calories0 -

^^This....or you could just record the whole bagel and sacrifice some cals.....0 -
sounds like a lot of work...just eat it...or get a bagel thin instead???0

Not enough calories to make up for the time and effort of taking all of the delicious, chewy center out of the bagel.0
-
Next you are going to say how many calories saved by hollowing a loaf a warm french bread????? I would rather jog while eating it0

Agreed0 -
Step 1: hollow out bagel
Step 2: send to food nutrition lab to have it analzyed
Step 3: send it to another lab to have the first results verified
Step 4: eat bagel.
anything else will be completely wrong and will lead to massive weight gain and possibly even armageddon.0 -
Eat half a bagel instead?
Or can you get mini bagels where you are? I used to have two mini bagels with whatever for lunch. I think bagels are more filling than other bread due to the high protein.0 -
cut it in half and call it a day!0
-
I hate wasting food, so I would just either eat half or get the mini bagels instead. If you're making a sandwich and don't want to eat it open-faced, then just get the thin bagels.0

Another important question is...
...how many calories are you going to log for this work of hollowing out the bagel?0 -

Everyone says this book was so great, but I got about halfway through and gave up...didn't get to this part I guess....0 -
I don't get the point of hollowing out a bagel? You're just eating crust? Might as well not eat it at all.0
-
Nature's Own sales a thin slice bagel that is only 110 cals.0
-
I'd rather eat the inside.0
-
Why not just eat half? I've never understood why people do this0

I'm with Cliff. Either don't eat it at all or eat the whole thing and put a little extra work in at the gym.0
