First NSV

Well, maybe not my absolute first, but the first one that made me want to post about it since joining MFP.
So, I regularly ride my bicycle back and forth to work every day as often as I can when it's not pouring down rain. I do have rain gear for light rain, so I do ride most days. During the summer when I was also playing softball a couple nights a week, I would take the direct route from my house to work, which ends up being about 2 miles each way. Now that softball season is over, I was feeling like I wasn't getting enough exercise anymore, so I started taking the "long" way to work to increase my calorie burn for the day. The long route works out to be about 6 miles each way, so I have been getting in a total of 12 miles a day, which gets me about 60 min of exercise a day. This has been feeling really good!
So, now for the NSV. The other day on my ride home, I had to stop at a stop light. As I was waiting for the light to turn green, I noticed that I was standing comfortably over the frame of the bike, between the seat and the handlebars. This has never happenend before!!! Since I started riding, whenever I would stop, I would have to stand to one side of the bike with it leaned over underneath me because I physically didn't fit between the seat and the handle bars. My tummy and my behind were always too big ....until now - Now I fit!!! As soon as I realized this, I was soooo happy!!! I was so happy, I rode an extra mile on the way home!
I still have a long way to go on my weight loss journey, but I finally feel like I am getting somewhere this year. This little victory just made my day!

Wow! That is a great NSV! I am also amazed that you bike about 12 miles a day. I have been cutting slack and biking to work for couple of weeks. (Time to get back upon wheels. Thanks for inspiring!)0

That's so great, what a cool NSV! Today was actually my first day biking to work, so woohoo for us! As my avid bike-rider friend always says "Burn fat, not gas!"0
