I am thinking of buying one since they seem to be very useful in measuring stuff to eat. Which one is the best one? I don't want to spend too much money but I want one that is reliable and generally a good deal. What do most ppl have?

Thanks!

I bought mine for $20 at WalMart and its worked perfectly for me! :] It's a digital glass top too!
  • I use an OXO with stainless top on a black body. I like it because the tray is removable to wash. The buttons are sealed so no water or juices can kill it. I mention that because my other glass top scale had buttons that were not sealed and guess what, it fried out. The OXO can be purchased at Williams-Sonoma or their website for $54.00. I highly recommend it.

I bought a basic scale at a weight watchers meeting. It's been a while ago now, but I think it was somewhere between $15 and $19, though they may have gone up a little since. It's not digital or anything fancy, but it gets the job done nicely, and its small enough to put away in a cabinet without taking up too much room. I like the fact that you can set your own empty container or plate on it, reset it to zero, and then add your food item and know exactly how much you're eating (especially for hard to measure items like chips, etc.). Nice option if you're looking for something simple and not too expensive.
