Where to start... (again)

Last winter, I lost 20 lbs quickly and easily on MFP. I was happy, doing great and eating 1400 calories a day.
In the spring, I became ill and as put on two medications, both with the side effect of WEIGHT GAIN. I have gained almost 50lbs since then and can not handle it. I am so unhappy.
I don't even know where to start... any advice?

Start for sure on your diet!
Then start moving everyday. Definitely build some muscle, lift! lift! lift!0 -
Are you still on your 1400 calories a day plan? I'd say start with small goals for yourself instead of looking at the larger number. I find that if I set smaller goals for myself that are more easily reached, I don't get frustrated as easy. Feel free to add me for some extra motivation!0

I know exactly how you feel!!!!!!
I also lost 20 pounds since last December. This past summer, I moved into my own place and it has been wonderful. Started a new job, have regular hours and thought it was gonna be easy to get the rest of the weight off. Low and behold, I have gained back over 10 of the 20 I've lost.
So sorry to hear about you becoming ill, I can't imagine how it much feel to gain weight with medication. I can attribute some of my weight gain to steroids I was on for an infection, but most of it was from my own lack of will power.
My only advice/quesiton: Do you have to be on the meds for a long period of time? Is there a different medication you can take that won't have the nasty side effects?
I know that when I was steroids and was constantly hungry, my saving grace for not gaining all the weight back was exercising, alot. Helps with the extra calories I took in. And be mindful of what you're eating. Sodium can play a big role in unnecessary weight gain. I know probaly half of what I've gained is water weight from all the salty goods I've been indulging in.
Sorry to ramble on and on but I'm so frustrated with the weight gain, I feel you pain.0
