Take a day off before a 5k?

I am jogging/walking a 5k tomororw evening, would it be okay for me to go run on the treadmill tonight or should I take the day off?

It depends on what you're planning to do in the race. If you're not working on a new PR then it won't matter too much if you don't go crazy tonight and set a treadmill record. If you're wanting a new PR you might want to take the night off and put in double effort tomorrow.

This is my actual first 5k that I will be jogging/running so I am just wanting to finish it, not worrying about a PR this time around.

As your goal is to finish it if you feel like a short, slow run today it's not going to hurt (it's not going to improve your fitness at this point either but I tend to get fidgety before a race and will go short & slow the day before).

The day of the race try not to get caught up in the excitement and go out too fast, it's all about pacing and having fun. Remember to smile as you cross the finish line!

Walk today. Run tomorrow, walk the following day.
