What should I do??

Hmm not sure what to do... I'm bridesmaid for my best friend in almost a year's time - October. She's asked me to go to a dress shop next week. So I guess it's feasible that if we see a dress that the 3 of us like (there's another bridesmaid) we'd be ordering/buying it soon. I've set myself the goal of losing 83 Ibs - lost 14 so far. I've yo yoed so much in the past, I'm bloomin determined now I'm gona reach my end goal once and for all! I plan to get married myself in 2014 too and I won't be a fat bride!
Obviously I'd prefer to order my bridesmaid dress further down the line but I guess it would be unfair if my friend's suggested we go now I guess she's keen on pulling it together and deciding the colour theme etc. But I'm a UK size 14/16 at the mo, I'm hoping to be a size 10 then, but I haven't been that weight since I was a teenager so I'm kinda guessing. How am I gonna try dresses on??!

Why don't you get it a size or two down, something manageable, and then you can alter it smaller if you need too. It's easier to make it smaller than bigger, lol.0

Well right now I'm feeling ambitious and have decided I WILL be a size 10...then I simply have to get there! But yeah see what you're saying!0

This is what I would do, if I could afford it... I would buy two dresses - one dress a size or two smaller than you wear NOW, and another dress one size LARGER than your ideal (so it can be altered where needed.)0

Dont let the size of the dress determine your mood. I had a size 16 dress for my wedding. And I didnt like it but I would rather the dress fit than be too small. Get a dress that fit and have it taken in as you loose the weight. It is better to be safe than sorry.0

Good advice except I defo can't afford to buy two dresses! I think I'm going to be brave and buy a size 10. I'm going to lose this weight once and for all and that's great motivation!0

You can also have it altered some if you lose a lot of weight by then. But also remember that this is about the bride and whatever you do, won't matter much since it is all about her. When you get married, it will be all about you and no one will really pay too much attention to the bridesmaids. Good luck!0

Check with the boutique and see what their policies are about returns, exchanges and alterations, and/or what the cutoff would be for ordering a dress. If you could hold off ordering the dress for another 6 or 9 months, that would give you a much better idea of where you'll be a year from now.
My niece when from a size 12 (US) to a size 4 before her wedding, and they ordered a new dress for her at no extra charge, since it wouldn't have been feasible to alter her dress to fit.0
