I think I hit a road block...

For almost 2 weeks I've been over. Sometimes by 200, others 500. I take every opportunity I can to get out and walk when I can. Mind you my parents are both pretty sick so I can't just workout all willy nilly. Today I walked to the coffee shop in the almost dark (the only light was from the shoppes and cars) and back to get myself a tea and even in that I used half n half and honey.

GAH !!!! HELP !!!

Try eating more veggies instead of snacks, like broccoli, lettuce (really fills you up with little calories!), carrots.

Keep cutting where you can. Up the exercise every day!

    Hi:
I looked at your diary. I think you are going to have to find substitutes for the ice cream sandwiches and cookies.
I eat thomas bagel minis with one wedge of laughing cow cream cheese as a snack, as an example.
I also think you need to eat a little better at breakfast.

Start with fixing your breakfast! Real food will fill you up more than a sugar free muffin, leaving you less likely to snack. Add in some veggies to whatever you make. Spinach is really easy to add because it has a very mild flavor that doesn't over take whatever you put it with.

Exercise when you can. It's harder when you have stress, you can only do the best you can. I fill up with salads, veggies, a lot of water, and tea with just stevia. When I need to avoid cream I drink green tea and herbal teas that are no good with cream (I LOVE cream in black tea and coffee!!! I just avoid them if necessary).

Being on a calorie deficit is hard. You can't do this journey on will power alone. You must set up your environment for success. Have a team around you in your real life, not just online. Get trigger foods out of the house. It will take some sacrifice and it's not easy. You might have to say no to some social events sometimes.

Too many changes at once can be hard on some people. I've always eaten healthy so it easy for me to simply eat less. Eating at a calorie deficit is hard on people; even a small deficit puts your body in a state of flux with hormones and such. Everyone is different. Some people can handle a deeper calorie deficit than others, this is not right or wrong, it just is. Stress in your life affects your hunger hormones; lack of sleep, fatigue, job stress, family stress, financial stress, etc. Add in emotional eating issues and it gets even more complicated. Most people can only handle so much change/stress at once, they try to do too much and fail. Sometimes it might be a better strategy to eat at maintenance and make some small changes first, it really depends on how much stress you are taking in at the moment.
  • Are you hungry? Looking at your diary I just thought that i would be starving based on what you ate! I'm no expert but I'd still recommend eating a better/bigger breakfast - eggs/milk/spinach/fruit.

Try and incorporate as much fresh food as you can... I totally understand in a hectic/stressful environment it can be tough, but keep containers of chopped veggies and fruit in the fridge, stuff for salads ready to go, some nice bread and eggs around and you'll be good to go!

Try cutting back on some of the salt, sugar and the grain based products...I don't know about you.. but I find that salt, sugar and flour tend to stimulate my appetite..
