Whey Protein and INSANITY confusion!

Hello everyone!
So, I had my eye on the Insanity program for a while now. I finally got a hold of it and took the plunge yesterday! I started with the Fit Test as instructed on the Insanity Calendar and today was day 2 for me, I completed the Plyometric Cardio Circuit (it was hard!).
My question is, should I incorporate a protein shake into my diet during this regimen? I am really feeling the soreness tonight and want to keep being able to do the workouts to my best ability. I do not take any extra supplements for weight loss. Would the added protein help me out?
The one I am looking into is: http://www.amazon.com/100-Protein-Instantized-Vanilla-Cream/dp/B0027XWS7Q/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1PWBBLVZ2EVKL&coliid=I18NWQV1ELTDV3
It is the 100%Whey protein from Optimum Nutrition. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I have heard whey protein may cause kidney stones or other kidney problems if not used properly. But I also heard this is the best type of protein for weight loss which is my main goal. I am just trying to make a safe and educated decision :].

I've found whey to be great and help, with soreness. I'd look at making your macros so that protein is 30% of your diet. Can be done through food and supplements. I generally go for a low carb, lower calorie whey. I personally use usn. X0

I use whey protien as 2 of my meals ,I dont have alot of muscle soreness and I find that I am lifting more so I am gaining muscle and its lean and low in carbs.I drink plenty of water and never had any issue. If you want to build muscle you need the protien and it keeps you fuller longer.0
