I am allowed 1200 cals per day.
For those of you in this range could you tell me how many grams of carbs - proteins- fats is MFP giving you?
I am OVER on my carbs every day. Not much maybe 10-20 grams. Now I should say that on the advice of the Jillian Michaels site I am that one that changed my carbs to 60grams.
I do know that my body does a better job of losing when I choose protein cals rather than carbs, that is why I changed to 60grams.
I mean I literally could eat 1200 cals a day in carbs alone if left to my own devices. When not on a eating plan I go days without protein, other than milk and cottage cheese.
But a friend of mine joined yesterday ( 1200 cals) and she gets 165 grams of carbs a day !!! I dont think she will loose with that many carbs per day. She only weighs about 30 lbs more than me at this point.
I guess I am just wondering if 60 is too low, no matter what I eat I am over everyday. But 165 seems way too high.
Thanks for any insight on this one.

To be completely honest, I think 60 carbs is way, way to low!! When I was on a diabetic diet for gestational diabetes I was allowed 60 carbs per meal... of course I was pregnant-but I lost weight that way even though I didn't watch my calories or anything else.
I have heard from multiple sources that you should have your ratio of carbs/fat/protein be: 40%/30%/30% When changing my ratio I thought I had to much protein and not enough carbs so I allowed myself 45% carbs. Your body needs the glucose that carbs provide--especially for brain function. I believe the best thing to do is to not limit yourself to much but pair your carbohydrates with protein and fat. i.e. an omelet with toast and olive oil. If you cut out one food group you tend to crave it even more. So be careful.
I really think that 165 is even too low, but my diet had me at 225 carbs a day.
Good luck and take care :flowerforyou:0
