Beginners to strength training + weights

When I first started MFP, all I did was cardio i.e. Zumba, Running on the treadmill, elliptical and the bike (yeah, I know, typical beginner lol).
Then I started noticing more and more in the forums about strength training and its better effects on weight loss and fat burning and decided to give it a go.
Problem is, I had no clue where to start, all I knew is that it requires weights or resistance of some sort.
Long story short, I bought a pair of 5 lb and 10 lb weights and read up some more.
I began by using the schedule here:
http://www.simplyshredded.com/the-ultimate-female-training-guide.html
Did that for about two weeks or so, and then got bored, and was happy when I found these:
Day 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukSLVLerNwk
Day 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hOjsHe7xCQ
I then meshed both together, and tada, basic strength training (along with daily cardio) I got good results and I believe it contributed to not just weight loss but overall body strength and inches lost. I managed to carry heavier than the initial 10lbs eventually, so yay (that's the idea btw, according to Chalene, go heavy or go home!)
I now use ChaLean Extreme and Turbo Fire so that I get a good variation of cardio, resistance and weight training.
Just wanted to share for those who are clueless about strength training and need some sort of guide to go from. Not perfect, but it helped me get an understanding of it
