Progress so far...

I have so far lost 34lbs, I've lost 7.5 inches from my hips and 8 inches from my waist. I can run up to 40 mins straight at 6mph (that started from only being able to run for 7 seconds and wanting to pass out) I can cycle up to 15 miles and I swim up to 40 lengths.

I'm not done, when I am I'll show the pictures, you can see the progress so far on my profile.

I've wanted to do this for years. I had Myalgic encephalomyelitis for 6 years, kidney stones last year and started acute kidney failure. I've hidden behind my size for so long and only found a reason in the last 18 months to do this. I want a healthy life, a long life with the people who matter to me, where I'm happy and proud of who I am. I gave up smoking for the same reason I'm doing this now and whatever happens I'm damned proud.

If you start something like this it's not about the goal because if you think like that, when you get it what's left? Every day I'm learning more about what I want. I want to be strong, I want to be proud of myself and most of all I want continue it on for the rest of my life.

I punished myself for years for things that were beyond my control by over eating and making the worst choices for myself. Food doesn't heal anything, I just poisoned myself. I can have what I want but now in moderation. I don't reject the idea of 'eating clean' it's just not a method that works for me. What does work is balance (and keeping a bottle of water near me.) I couldn't move on until I worked out why food was always my comfort. If food is too much of a comfort it's always going to come back and bite you. I get it now and I have a completely different attachment to it.

I'd like to encourage those who struggle sometimes, those who find the overall goal a bit daunting and the ones who cheat. The phrase 'it's a lifestyle choice' is paramount.

Good luck peeps!!

Love and light.

Fin x

Well done you! You have achieved so much, with the weight loss, improving cardiovascular fitness, giving up smoking and possibly the most important thing, a 'healthier' outlook on food. You should be proud of yourself - I hope you are.

ETA: I was going to post a joking comment about your face (with the really great makeup btw) but then realized that I would look like a total bish when you changed your pics back.
  • Congratulations on changing your mindset that's what everyone needs to achieve to accomplish this and to make it a change for life. Keep strong and you will conquer this forever.

What a great success story! I think the absence of pictures actually puts your point across better too.

Long may your success and enjoyment of your body continue!
