What are TDEE and EM2LW?

I have seen these referred to -- can someone please explain them?

EM2LW is 'eat more to lose weight', it basically means having a smaller deficit than being thrown straight down to the 1200 minimum that MFP gives most people. If you search for the group and look at the first few sticky threads then you'll get a much more in-depth explanation as to what they are.
TDEE - is the 'total daily energy expenditure' and calculates how much you burn each day, including activity, you then take off 10-20% and use that as your deficit, for instance my TDEE is around 2400, to take 20% off would take my cals down to 1900 and that's what I would eat to lose weight (which is much preferable to the 1200 MFP gives me! I also wouldn't count exercise calories at this level and would eat the same every day, regardless of whether I exercised or not) You also aim to NET higher than your BMR, I think mine is 1400 cals, so each day, I should be aiming to net at least 1400 cals!0 -
