Im just wondering..
how much control do you have around food & calories ?!
does it depend on your environment or social circumstances?
andddd are you overall happy with the level of control you have now?
just curious

Thanks to MFP, I have total control, even when I go out. If my friends have to wait on me to look up the calories, I don't care! Sure it was hard at first, but now that I've been counting/measuring for 35 days, it just comes naturally and makes me feel proud!0

I have generally have willpower of steel because I'm so stubborn by nature, but that doesn't mean that it isn't hard to resist.0

I have control at home most of the time. When I go out, I have some control, unless it's a cheat day. On my cheat days, I eat anywhere from 2,500-4,000 calories. And that's okay for me.0

It's a death grip for long periods of time (years often). Eventually that level of effort causes a burn out and no control. Precipitous weight gain ensues until the Give a Damn light comes back online. Then I lose it all and maintain with that death grip. Mine is All or None.0

I don't have very good self control but I'm improving but my main route to sucess is not putting myself in the way of temptation. About a month ago I tried to buy a small treat for myself and when I got to the checkout I was told it was 2 for 1. So I politely said I didn't want the 2nd one, which she then queried and I said it was becuase if I bought a 2nd one, I'd eat it... probably that day, and if not the next day or the day after that... but I was trying to have a one off treat.... this caused much offense to the cashier... and she started arguing with me that I should have more self control. Well in my opinion, its not of her business, I'm working on building my self control and until then, I won't buy what I shouldn't eat. So yes, situation definately has an effect on self control including peer pressure, but I'm pleased to say I bought and ate only one treat.0

I don't think I have self-control but my husband tells me I do. Considering there are still 19 Reese's cups in the snack bin by my desk, I think he's right.0
