Hey everyone! I am wanting to make calzones for dinner tonight, but when I put my normal recipe in the recipe calculator, it comes to 1200 cals per serving (1/2 whole grain pillsbury dough, 2 oz. pepperoni, 3 oz pepperjack cheese and 1.5 c marinara per calzone). I would like to try lightening it up, so I am thinking (1/2 can of whole grain pizza dough, 2 oz turkey pepperoni, 3 oz of babybel light cheese, and 1.5 c marinara. It comes to 850 per calzone, which is a little better. However, I have never tried to melt babybel cheese wheels and am concerned it will taste like crap and not be melty. Has anyone tried melting babybel light cheese wheels before?

You could always stick one in the microwave and see what happens. That way you can find out without ruining dinner0

I tried melting it in a sandwich and it didn't melt very well. It tasted the same but remained quite solid, the spanish version at least0

I decided that it wouldn't be a good idea; picked up some lo fat ricotta and real mozzarella instead. If I am going to make an indulgent meal, it might as well taste good!0
