Yesterday this was a very popular thread and i thought i'd bring it back for today! The top five most popular Disturbing films were...

1. The Exorcist

2. A nightmare on Elm Street

3. A Serbian Film

4. Audition

5. Poltergeist

A lot of these films aren't particularly disturbing but most of the people on the thread saw them as children and were terribly scarred by them. We'd like to hear your stories and favorite scary and disturbing films! Try to stump the masters of horror! We want to see obscurity, we want to find new unique entertainment! LET'S GET DISTURBED!

The Abominable Dr. Phibes - A bit campy by today's standards, but the scene with the frog mask really bothered me as a kid.

I was actually a pretty terrified little kid... i remember being afraid of "firestarter" i tucked the blankets under my feet because i was afraid of fireballs!... later on i was afraid of the "troll".. my uncle told me that he lived under a bush in my yard... traumatizing! Then i remember the "leprechaun" making an appearance in my dread... i remember staying up all night on st. patricks day and nobody caring.. so i stayed in the bathroom where i could have the lights on.. Then i had a fear of Scarecrows... ugh,.,, ok so there you have it! now i'm a horror junkie.. lmao

Saw 'It' as a child and that was pretty horrific, but the one that I think is most scarring is Return to Oz! What a horrible and disturbing movie!

I tried to make sense of that movie.. frankly it stumped the hell out of me.. i checked reviews and all these people were like, "the worms were a metaphor for this" and the baby was a metaphor for that" and even after reading those, i still didn't get it.. i think those people are either faking this insight, or just as crazy as david lynch!
