I've been running since March. My first 10K is next Saturday. I'm a SLOW runner. I also switched to the Galloway method due to injuries. I'm actually slightly faster that way and can certainly go farther that way.
I'm running a charity 1 mile run at work on Thursday so today I decided to run the first mile of my training run straight, as fast as I could, to see what my time was. I finished in 9:50! I was very happy with that - certainly my fastest mile ever!

Awesome job!! I've recently started running- like real running- and it is HARD. I read somewhere it is easier to condition your heart and lungs to running than your chassis (you bones) and I believe it. I give you credit- I know how challenging it is! Congrats on your accomplishment! I'm running my first 5k in two weeks and will continue to run further and longer races!!! Hope your 10k goes perfectly!0

Great job! As a slow runner, this is inspirational. I want to try that tomorrow! I've been stuck in a 15:00 mile for a few weeks without improvement.0

The only thing that has improved my time is just more running. For me, it's the cardiovascular system that can't take it. My legs and such are fine. I started out at around 14:30 per mile. My typical pace now is between 11:30 and 12:30 per mile. I consider that good progress but I'll never be fast. I'm just not built that way!0

This is amazing! I started running two summers ago with the "get Running" app. So hard when I started. I am now a runner. I love it, kind of addicted really. My weight loss really started progressing when I Started running. You guys are inspiring and I am excited to hear about how your 10 k goes!!! Keep up all your hard work!!! ~Corina0

I don't have lofty goals for my 10K. Really just to finish according to my plan (run 3, walk 1). Finishing under 75 minutes would be nice too, but not a necessity.0
