I'm flying out to Houston this week for work. Where should i eat? What should I try to see in the evenings, after work? I believe I'll be in the northwest part of Houston, about 30 mins from the airport, if that makes a difference...

Thanks!

You should go to the Aquarium. Its a restaurant and actual aquarium. Great seafood and you get to eat "inside" a giant fishtank. Its hard to miss because its the place in downtown with the ferris wheel out front :) Also, Zios is really good for italian!

Side note: houston drivers are CRAZY!

I am in VA and have been to Houston 12 weeks since Spring 2011. Here are a few of my favorites:
    Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen (several locations)
    Brenners' Steak House $$$----excellent!
Pappasito's Cantina for Mexican....yum. They make their nachos on site..yum
Cavatore Italian has the best chicken parmasean! I could lick the plate! 2120 Ella Blvd. Houston, TX 77008

Tips for driving....don't be courteous and signal to change lanes or hesitate....just DO IT!! When in Rome....
those people in Houston HONK at outsiders!! I try to avoid rental cars with a license plate NOT from TX....just sayin.

I always drive around after work too when in TX! Be VERY CAREFUL in the city.... I like to drive down Alley Pkwy.
immediately West of downtown city. There are several statutes (art) "Tolerance Statues" made from metal symbols...
they light up at night. Google them....very awesome at night. There is also a house made of beer cans...off of Memorial Drive, not too far from Tolerance Statues. Kind of cool. Lakewood Church is not too far West of downtown. The Galleria Mall has fancy stores, tons of them...but interesting to visit. Near the Galleria is a HUGE waterfall wall, this is worth seeing. Outside and free.

Riding around downtown is a favorite of mine...lots of outside artwork. Minute Maid Park if you are a fan is in the downtown.
Enjoy the BIG TEXAS SKY! Rita
