I'm in NYC and was very lucky to only be subject to the blackout (~4 days) instead of flooding or worse. Unfortunately, however, my diet got shot to hell. The only restaurants open after Sandy were pizza places (I had my first NY pizza) and the only food you could find were carbs (bread, poptarts, etc.). Could not find a veggie for the life of me.

My gym still isn't up and running so I'll know the damage done on Monday. I'm hoping to get motivation for the final push to the holiday season when I see family and friends and want to look good. :) Hoping to find some people to keep me accountable or w/e friends do on this site.

Aw... sorry you've had to go through that :(

Life happens though. Don't worry about it... just get back to doing what you can to exercise and eat healthy in the meantime.

    Welcome to MFP! :)
  • I hear you! Due to cabin fever, I just kept eating eating eating. It's ok, life happens. I was just thankful that me and my family were safe and ok. We just have to keep moving and trying our best. Tomorrow is a new beginning. I don't have that much gas left in my car and bc of the giant gas lines, I don't even want to trek to the gym. Going for a long walk tomorrow. Good luck, and keep at it!
