For the millionth time, net calories?

I have a very disordered view of food, calories, exercise, and how much of each I should be getting. I have my calories set to 1460 and with everything I do throughout the day and with dance team practice my net is often under 1,000 (although I've recently been trying to increase it). But I'm wondering if it truly does have to be at a certain number or if I can eat 1460, workout, and have a net of 700? The higher net seems scary to me and I feel like it may be the reason that my weight recently jumped up the past week and I'm really nervous. Opinions?

  • MFP seriously over estimates exercise calories. I spend hours working out every day and I don't log it. MFP would tell me my net is way into the negative.

You still need to log your exercise calories, so you can eat part of them back, but I agree. MFP completely overestimates burned calories. Try using another calculator, or only eating back half of what MFP says you burned.

My budget is 1350 and I never eat exercise back. I've been maintaining at that for almost 2 years now and I haven't died yet.
