How do you stop eating away your emotions?

A certain someone in my life said something today that upset me greatly.... and I have not stopped eating/snacking on things since then. Mainly it's been fast food, junk food, and desserts.

Just wondering if anyone has developed different techniques or hobbies to participate in when faced with the problem of emotional eating. Maybe i should get back into writing or polymer clay charm making.....or something that'll make it so I don't have a free hand to hold food with all day.
