Recipes - Baking vs Frying
Can any tell me how accurate the recipe builder on MFP is? I just entered the recipe for my mother Norwegian Meatballs, yes Norwegian not Swedish
However, instead of pan frying the meatballs, we bake them. Wouldn't there be a difference in the final calorie count bacause of this? I am just wondering how accurate the final figures are.

There would be no difference at all, if the ingrediants are the same. And by that, I mean, if you are frying them, you have to include any oils you fry them in. Presubly you put a couple of tablespoons of butter or something in the pan...you need to add that to the recipe in order to calculate the calorie count accurately. Same thing, if you are spreading it on a pan in for baking.
The method of cooking doesn't add/subtract any calories, but the medium you cook it in does.0
