fat/carbs/protein

is 41% carbs, 26% fat and 33% protein a good balance to have? I am training for endurance for 100k in may so am in no way trying to 'low carb'

I don't go by percentages. I think it's better to go by body weight. Some people say a gram of protein per pound of body weight, or a gram per pound of your lean mass. I go for somewhere in between the two. As far as fat goes I don't really pay much attention. I focus on protein and the rest kind of falls into place.

40c/30p/30f is fairly common ratios for athletes to use, so I'd say your is close enough. Just make sure it includes enough protein for you at that ratio. Whether it does will depend on the caloric goal.

I do better with more fat than protein, keeps me full longer and I have more energy. Listen to your body and adjust accordingly. It's actually dangerous to get too little fat in your diet, especially if you limit carbs.

my daily calorie goal is 1750 basic, more if i exercise but i don't alwys have at least a 500 cal deficit from my TDEE

My pre-MFP weight loss, in which i lost 28lb, was reducing myself to A 10% or less fat diet, but i am now getting more into exercise so i realise it's not sustainable

  • Your nutrient macros look pretty inline with an athletic persons. Most people opting for performance based nutrition tend to hover in the 40-65% range on carbohydrates, really just depends on insulin sensitivity. Nutrient macros are very personal but I think you have a good place you are starting from. I feel horrible when I go anywhere near 10% fats, and do better lowering my carbs more when trying to lose weight but for performance I am normally around 40% protein or 30% carbs, 30 fats much more than 30% carbs is too much for me.
