Losing the baby weight

Anyone out there trying to lose their "baby" weight. I have a 3 month old daughter and I'm trying to lose the last 12lbs. Problem is my motivation to get back to running and the gym is gone. I manage 2 days a week at the gym and then I'm burnt out already. I used to work out 5 times a week and run a "short" run of 6 miles at a 9 minute pace. Yet, 3 months after my baby and I find working out to be a chore, and it was something that I used to love. I find counting my calories a chore too...Boo! Looking for people in my same position to help keep me motivated. I really want my skinny jeans to fit again! Thanks!

My babies are older than yours, but I totally understand the losing weight part. I gained 50lbs with both and lost all with both. It took me a lot longer than you, though. With my first I didn't really get serious until after he was one so he was 2 1/2 when I finally lost it all. And with my second it took me six months to lose 40lbs and then more than a year to lose the remaining 10lbs. He's a little over 2 now.
Do you breastfeed your baby? When I breastfed mine I was ALWAYS tired and hungry! I think that's why it was so hard for me to lose the weight. Once I weaned them at a year and a half it was much easier. I know some say it's easier to lose weight while breastfeeding, but it can also be hard.
Your baby is still very young. Take it easy. I always read that you should give your body a year to ful year and recover from a pregnancy. Don't be in a rush to lose the last 12lbs. Workout 3-4 times a week and make it count. Focus on strength and circuit training. IF you are breastfeeding make sure you keep your calories up. freedieting.com has a breastfeeding calculator if you need one. Make sure you take naps when baby naps if you're not sleeping well at night and stay hydrated.0 -
I am!! I have a 7 week old baby girl and just started getting serious about losing the baby weight on November 1st. I am doing the 30 Day Shred this month (yay for successfully completing day 4 today)! I found when I was first getting in shape for my wedding that the gym just wasn't for me. Too many excuses to not go. So I jumped on the Jillian Michael's workout DVD bandwagon and it has done wonders! I lost 32 lbs for my wedding (went from 162 lbs to 130 lbs in about 8 months).
Now I have 25 lbs of pregnancy weight to lose (I gained 42 lbs during my pregnancy... long story short.. I had a high-risk pregnancy where my baby was classified as assymetrical IUGR meaning she wasn't getting enough nutrients.. so being a loving and worried mommy I spent the third trimester stuffing my face! and it worked.. she was born happy and healthy!)
i would love to support each other! And I highly recommend starting off with the 30 Day Shred.. it's only 25 minutes a day! My husband has guaranteed me that I can have 25 minutes to do my workout every day.. which actually helps because he always makes me go do it!
And I feel you on the skinny jeans! I only have one pair of jeans that fit right now... my size 6's are my motivation!0
