Bah can't edit topic oh well take s off of walk! lol.
Why does it feel like when I jog it is at a slower pace than when I walk. I walk roughly 3.2-3.6mph depending not sure how fast I jog, cant jog more than a minute without my shins being on fire.

At first that is how I felt.. I kept jogging though ( no matter how slow it was) and I definitely got faster. I know now my jog is faster than my walk. Just keep at it! You will get there!
I started with a 14.5 minute mile and now I am down to a 12.5 minutes mile in about a month, running almost every day.0 -
I don't know but my walks always feel faster than my jogs so I stick to mostly walking.0

I am going to try starting this tomorrow, just need to go get some better running shoes. These shoes i have now are not for running by no means.0 -
I always thought I could walk as fast as I run but it isn't true. Once I got so I could run 5K I ran it one day and walked it the next. My run took 35 minutes and my walk took 50 minutes and I was really walking as fast as I could. It just seems that you're moving really slowly.0

Running a mile burns more calories than walking a mile, regardless of pace, because the motion is different.
If you are new to running, doing very short intervals like in the c25k program is smart.
Also if it feels hard slow way down. No such thing as too slow when you are first starting.0
