More than the default MFP recommendation.

Is it??? I eat over 120g of protein a day usually which I thought was not bad, but if that's the case I need to more than double that!

MFP sets the protein 'goals' ridiculously low..... but yes, for women it should be around 1g per pound of body weight if you're doing strength training, on days you do strength training..... on non strength days it doesn't have to be that much -- and it doesn't have to be that much if you're doing barbie weights. ;)

IMO, that would be too much. that much wont hurt you as far as I know, but its not going to help either.

1g per pound of Lean body mass (not total body weight) is often suggested.

Start with 1gram per pound of body weight so if you weight 130lbs eats 130grams which is 520 kcals

Actually it should be about .8g - 1g per pound of lean body mass, not total body weight. You could go as high as 1.5g per pound of LBM, but even that is not necessary unless you are bulking.

Yes, I am imagining an obese person on a calorie deficit that would be eating *only* protein.

I weigh 136lbs, I aim to be between 100 - 125g of protein a day. Usually MFP set your protein goals much too low, you can manually change this by changing your % to say 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat. Although it would depend your personal goals as to what percentages you would like.
