White or dark meat?

Is there any difference in nutrition? Which is better for weight loss? I am trying to get more protein in my diet and would like to pre-cook a bunch of chicken and have it for meals and stuff. Thanks!

white meat has far less fat.
might be good or bad depending on your macros.
Dark meat cuts are usually cheaper though. Skinless thighs are a good cost vs. fat content compromise.0 -

Ok, thanks. My main reason for asking this was because dark meat is so much cheaper than white...0 -
Don't listen to the hype. White meat and dark meat are both fine for you. Just google around and find their stats. Dark meat really isn't bad for you, and you can find a lot of articles supporting that the calorie and fat difference is pretty insignificant.
Here's one: http://www.symptomfind.com/nutrition-supplements/white-meat-versus-dark-meat/ There are plenty of others if you want to google around.0 -
White meat only for me.........0

Dark meat to me tastes better...0

I prefer the white, but will eat both0

I typically cook up skinless boneless chicken thighs in the oven with no condiments - then cut up 3oz pieces with basmati rice(2/3 cup) and a 1/2 cup of green beans for lunch every day - so good and only 400 calories or so.0

Dark meat has more fat. More fat = more deliciousness and lusciousness. Plus it's cheaper. I get a big sack of thighs and season the whole thing and grill them for dinner and then have the leftovers for lunch. When I have time I like to use whole thighs with the bones and everything because meat that had a bone in it while it was cooking tastes even better. Usually I go for the convenience of boneless skinless thighs.0

What I am thinking of doing is buying this bag of dark meat thighs and drumsticks and putting them in the crockpot with some veggies and red potatoes and freezing individual portions so I can reheat them on the days that I work from 5-9 pm.0

Another thing about thighs is that it is pretty effortless to remove the skin. Personally, I have always liked dark meat better.0 -
just gotta say, wish i lived wherever you all are...dark meat being cheaper...round here, its all the same price...high.0

Cooked properly, there is little difference. There is a bit more fat in dark meat, but if you trim it properly and cook it long and slow a lot of it cooks out and it's just better in every way.0

Dark meat contains more fat make it moister but it also contains more fat making it higher calorie.0

Why would you want to trim off the fat? That's what makes it taste good.0 -
Eh sometimes it has too much fat. Id rather eat well crispy skin than grisly fat.0

white for my salads
dark for everything else
completely a matter of taste preference.0 -
we eat both in our house...legs and thighs are cheaper and do well in the slow cooker with vegies for dinners when my girls have evening activties...
breasts do well for stir-frys which i cook often....
i dont think that it matters...portion size and cooking methods are really what matter...0
