Healthy Fat

How do you guys handle healthy fats in your diet. I had peanut butter this morning and a nut snack mix and I do not have much fat left for the day. I have been told to not worry too much about the amount of fat in nuts and other healthy foods like them. Is ok to go over fat a little when the majority of fat is healthy? :ohwell:

  • I go over sometimes too, but as long as you are withing your calorie goal and your fats are the "good kind" are you're not over by too much I really wouldn't worry too much. If you're not loosing weight, then I would talk to a nutritionist and see what they think. Good luck :)
  • Thanks! I am not losing weight, but it's because I don't stick with the diet....I know that I go crazy over most days. I was just wondering because I was trying to be good and stick with it, but things like this are frustrating to me.

I don't even bother paying attention to fat. As long as you know when you go over in fat that it is mainly coming from healthy sources (nuts, healthy oils, avocado, etc.) it is all good.

As long as it isn't trans-fats, then don't worry about it. Honestly, so long as I stay under my calories and hit my protein goal, then I had a good day.

I go over every single day, sometimes it's the double the amount MFP says I should have.

But like you it's from things like peanut butter, almonds, coconut oil, olive oil, Greek yoghurt etc. And, OK, cheese and butter and the occasional rasher of bacon. I think it's quite difficult not to go over if you like to cook. (I don't like those mister things and I'm precious about not damaging my pans.)

Right now, I'm trying not to worry too much about it as I don't see any adverse effect. (Actually I feel better and certainly fuller and my skin's looking good.) It's maybe something to think about in the future.
