5'7 140-150lbs- How many calories do you burn?

I know the most accurate way to figure out how many calories burnt is by an HRM, which I do not have!
MFP seems to really over estimate, and I am not sure how accurate the machines at the gym are.
Any ladies who are around 5'7, 140-150lbs care to share appx how many calories are burnt doing exercise?
For example, I will spend 20 mins on the Eliptical and I get a reading around 120cals burnt. Does that sound reasonable??
Thx!!

Hey, I use the elliptical calorie counter to track, 21 minutes burns 200 calories for me, at level 6. 120 seems a little low to me. I am 5'7 1/2 and 147.4 pounds.0

Depends on how much effort/intensity you put into the activity. In 20 mins on an elliptical I can burn anywhere from 160-250 (doing HIIT).0

It depends on how hard you are going.
6 calories per minute sounds about right for an easier setting on the elliptical. At the higher end, you could double or triple that.0 -
I usually do between level 8-10 on the eliptical.
I am 5'7 and 142.
My bf on the other hand, he is about 220 and burns almost double what I do. I can never catch up to his 'burn'!0 -
I have used an HRM and compared it to what MFP gives and for the most part, it is pretty close on most exercises.0

I find that mfp is pretty close to accurate. You do need to put your hands on the machine's heart rate reader occassionally so it can gauge your effort level. My gym has 2 different brands of elliptical machines and I notice I burn different calories on each of them within the same timeframe.0
